(*I had written this about a week or so after coming home from my pacemaker surgery.*)

As I Rest Here...
On this minus fifteen degrees below zero night...
While the Winter frost,
crystallizes upon my bedroom window...
I feel my air vent's soft flow of warm air,
gently warming my skin.
On this extremely freezing,
January night,
under the fluffy,
white snow...
Deep in the ground of my backyard,
there is a beautiful family of rabbits,
cuddled very close together,
trying their very best to keep themselves warm,
while they softly sleep,
safe and sound.
In the freezing cold of this late January night...
There are warm homes,
with fire in the fireplace,
keeping families warm and happy,
as the soft chimney smoke,
slowly drifts into the night sky.
In the night sky,
above the soft,
fluffy clouds,
a half moon is shining bright,
while beautiful shooting stars,
flash brightly across the captivating,
starry sky.
On this incredibly freezing,
yet quiet,
January night,
my heart is softly beating,
with my pacemaker to keep it calm.
As I rest here,
with my heart,
softly beating,
the way it should...
I am healing.
